Best of luck to our U14 boy’s team who play Greystones 1 at home this Sunday in the semi-final of the Class 2 DLTC Junior League. This is a great achievement for the lads and I am sure they would love your support if you are free to come along. Good luck to Sean & Ben, Hugo & Jonas and Mike & Simon.
Sunday Match Play
This Sunday, 5th November is the first of 4 Match Plays with coach John Brady. Lots of juniors have registered for this, it is a great way for them to get match practice.
We were delighted to receive the news this week that junior member Dylan Lynch has returned home from Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Dylan (15) has been in hospital since last January and underwent a bone marrow transplant in June. Dylan is a very much missed member of the Junior Development Academy here at Wicklow Tennis Club and his Mum Cathy has informed us that he has his sights on returning in the future and we all wish him well in his recovery and look forward to his return when he is ready.
Ella Healy, another member of the Junior Development Academy at Wicklow Tennis Club, was recently selected for the South East Interprovincial U16 Hockey Team. This is a fantastic achievement for Ella, she spent the whole summer training very hard and is very worthy of her selection. Best of luck in all your games Ella.
Mark Britchfield, also a member of the Junior Development Academy, has been selected to represent Ireland in the International Junior Science Olympiad. Mark is off to Holland on a 9 day trip in December and we wish him the best of luck.
