We have two tickets for the Olympipcs 2012 tennis event on Centre Court at Wimbledon on Monday 30th July together with luch and hospitality. The current provisional shcedule on the London 2012 website shows a start time of 11.30am on this day so it may be possible for the ticket winners to travel over in the morning and return on the last flight from London. It will be the end of June before the Olympic tikcets are delivered to the Tennis Ireland Office.
How to win:
The committee has agreed that anyone who wishes to enter a draw for these tickets should donate €5 to the Wicklow Hospice Foundation. In order to be in with a change to win these tickets (you must arrange your own travel) all you have to do is put €5 in an envelope with your name on it and drip it into the club, envelopes may be left in the new internal letterbox in the front hall or drop it into Gelletlie’s jewellery shop. Please put ‘Olympic Draw’ along with your name and mobile contact number on the fron of the envelope. You may enter as many times as you like. Please note that only subscribed members are eligible to participate in this draw. Last date for receipt of entry is Friday 25th May.

This is for children aged 8 and over. It is a doubles tournament with new partners and opponents drawn each Sunday, so you play with different people each week. Players will be graded so you’ll always be playing with / against players of a similar age and standard to yourself. Matches will usually be form 3.00pm – 4.00pm or from 4.00 – 5.00pm, depending on which group you’re in- you will be sent a text to confirm your time. Entry is €5 and this is to be paid on the first Sunday.

This initiative is for junior members age 13,14,15 and 16. Registration is at 7.00pm sharp and it will run until approximately 8.30pm. The ‘teens’ are requested to provide their own balls (good idea to mark them) and please ensure that they are wearing their whites. There is no cost for this event as floodlights will not be required. Many thanks to the adult members who have offered to assist running the Friday nights on a roster basis.

Applicants must enjoy working with children, be a competent tennis player and be able to take instruction well.  This job is extremely rewarding for the right person.
