The Enjoy Tennis programme, founded by Tennis Ireland in 2015, enables athletes with a range of abilities to access and participate in inclusive sport in their local community. Enjoy Tennis was developed by Tennis Ireland in conjunction with a range of providers including Vision Sports Ireland, Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) Sport, St. Michael’s House, Carmona Services, Stewarts Care, Cheeverstown, Lakers and Festina Lente. The programme is supported by many local Sports Partnerships across Ireland.
The Enjoy Tennis programme at Wicklow Tennis Club was introduced some years back, in partnership with our local Special Olympics club, Blue Dolphins. Sessions are facilitated on a termly basis by Club Coach, Catalin Iordan, supported by a team of volunteers from WTC.
The coach and volunteers have completed training in Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare and Protection Basic Awareness Workshop and Garda vetting.
