The wearing of the Wicklow Tennis Club crest is optional when representing the club in league matches. Junior members must abide by the same dress code and ruling as Senior members. All members are expected to abide by the dress code when playing tennis at all time Breach of tennis attire rule: If a member is observed to be in breach of the club rule they will receive a written warning. This will be followed by a two week suspension should a second breach occur.

All courts must be booked using the online booking system available via our website at wicklowtennisclub.com. Only paid-up members will have access to the online booking system. Online bookings run on a rolling 7-days, not a calendar week. All players (4 for doubles and 2 for singles) MUST be entered on the system. If there is a change in players, the system must be updated to reflect same. A court may not be booked in one name only Courts are currently booked for 1hour or 1hour 30min slots (doubles) during peak periods (Monday to Friday from 18:00 hours to 23:00 hours). Note: Players are permitted to play for longer when a court has not been booked for the next slot. Courts may be booked for 1.5 hours in off peak periods (Up to 18:00 hours Monday to Friday and all weekend) Members may play in an off-peak period (up to 18:00hours Monday to Friday) and in a separate booking immediately afterwards. Players should be aware that the booking made from 18:00hours is considered one of their two peak bookings permitted. On-line court booking is limited to 7 days. This is to ensure that members have a fair chance to book courts and will only allow a member to book no more than 2 peak sessions in a 7-day period. An individual can make two bookings during peak periods (Monday to Friday from 18:00 hours) with unlimited play during off peak periods including weekends Members are not permitted to book courts consecutively in peak time slots. A 3rd booking may be made after 1.00pm on the same day if a court is available but any abuse of this rule will result in a member incurring removal of this privilege. You may only play on a court that has been booked in your name. Booked courts are not transferable. You must cancel your court and make same available if you do not intend to play. Late cancellations and no shows are unfair to other members, particularly during peak periods. This is being monitored closely by the committee and fair play is expected at all times.

During the summer, the club provides supervision for summer fun tennis for junior members. A nominal €2 is required to participate. For those with more than two children taking part, the max per day is €5. Children aged 8 and under are to be accompanied by an adult, and are not to be left alone at the club. All supervisors will have agreed and signed a code of conduct before commencement. Hours of supervision are 10.30 am to 4.30 pm and children under 10 should not be dropped at the club before that unless they have booked a court on Acebook. All juniors must leave the club before 6.00 pm (except where special exceptions have been made by the committee). Please make sure that your children are familiar with, and obey the club rules. Vehicles will not be allowed into the club grounds between the hours of 10.30 am and 4.30 pm (apart from club coaches and delivery vehicles). You should be aware of this when dropping off or collecting children. Parents should not park across neighbours’ gateways blocking their access, or on yellow lines or obstruct pedestrian crossing in front of club. This creates an obvious danger for all children leaving the club. Please co-operate with supervisors and do not cause unnecessary difficulties for them. If you or your child does have a problem however please let us know. The safety and enjoyment of all juniors is very important to us.

Juniors and Seniors have equal rights to courts until 6pm. Junior members should be accompanied on the club grounds by a senior member after 6pm. A junior member, aged 14+ may play until 9pm on Saturdays and Sundays with a senior member, or with a promoted junior (see point below). In the event that a court is free Monday to Friday from 6pm, and has not been pre-booked by seniors, a junior aged 14+ may play with a senior (or promoted junior) by booking via ClubManager on the day after 3pm. Juniors who have been selected to play on an Adult League Team may play after 6pm. These juniors are known as Promoted Juniors and have the same status as Senior members. Adult Leagues include Floodlit League, Winter League and Summer League. A list of these Promoted Juniors is available in the office and will be updated regularly. Junior Captains may also book courts after 6pm. Juniors aged 14 and over are welcome to play social tennis or in internal competitions e.g. club handicaps, championships, turkey etc. Please note: players must have attained the age of 14 years by 31st December in the year preceding the competition. For reasons of child safety, the Committee strongly recommends that children under the age of 8 should not be left in the club without adult supervision.

Getting Into The Club
